Assigning Students to an Existing Route Jacob Fullhart Updated September 23, 2025 19:08 You can assign students to the stop from the tripstop detail section using several functions. Once you've opened the route and trip, click on the name of the tripstop you'd like to add students to. Then, navigate to the students section of the tripstop details.The green button searches for available students to assign to this stop automatically. Clicking it shows student names on the left and their locations on the map. You can select students by name or on the map. Don’t forget to save your changes. By default, the system drops them off at their school stop.The +1 button allows you to add a specific student to the trip. You can type student names into the search bar, adjust the drop-off stop as needed, and then save the assignment. Connect students to stops on the mapYou can assign students to a stop by connecting the student dot with the target stop on the map.By default, the map will display all unassigned riders. To limit the number of students showing you can click on the three dots to open the trip properties and select the students for this trip. You can do so by selecting a school, bus, or one of your custom filters.Click the plus sign again and show unrouted/partially routed students on the map. You will see students we wish to assign. Then left-click the student's dot to initiate a line and do not release until you connect it to the target stop. In this way, the student will be assigned to the stop. To remove a wrong assignment, just left click on the connected line.# Auto assign on the trip levelAs we’ve seen in previous sections, the plus button opens a window to add a new stop to the trip. In this example, there is a route built for a morning trip to Casey MS and Sweethome Senior High School, but no students are assigned to it. Upon doing so you’ll see the number of students who have been assigned and clicking that number opens a list of those students. From here you can individually un-assign students if you wish.
